OVERALL PERSONALITY: Grigori is very ambitious and a forward thinker. He’s stubborn but loyal to those he considers family. He isn’t very forgiving however and tends to be highly vindictive. He’s arrogant and over confident, but can be extremely charismatic and charming.
HISTORY: Grigori was born in Russia in 1513, the oldest child of the extremely wealthy Vikente and Oksana Markov. Five years later came Aleksandr. Two years after that, Lara completed the family. Aleksandr was not a healthy boy at all so by the time Grigori was ten the family decided to leave Russia. They moved to London for a while where Aleksandr’s symptoms seemed to dissipate with London’s slightly less harsh weather. Aleksandr died shortly after his seventh birthday. After this, they stayed in London until Grigori was about 17 and Lara was 10.
The Markovs settled in a small village near what would one day become Harper Valley, New York. They lived there for a long while. Grigori later married and had children of his own, but his happiness was short-lived. At the age of 47, his family was attacked and killed. But for some reason, he was spared and turned instead. He left the village for several years, only to return to find the rest of his family, his parents, sister and nieces and nephews were gone as well.
He eventually met a man by the name of Nicolai Vinci and his sons. They quickly became friends and business partners and settling in what would soon become Las Vegas, they started the Black Market. Initially, it was just a way to keep the supernatural safe from the humans. When Las Vegas grew in population, so did the men’s ambitions. This is where things went a little screwy. Vinci and Grigori argued constantly. While Vinci wanted to stay old school, Grigori wanted to modernize. Eventually, they grew to hate each other and the Market was split.
Grigori eventually started the Were arena and he now runs that portion Sin City’s supernatural Market.
