HISTORY: Kiriko's life went as any usual one would. She was born in as the first and only child to her parents in Tokyo Japan, raised to be a bit spoiled and over protected. From baby to toddler she behaved and learned new things rather quickly, so as she turned four, she was sent into grammar school to start early; as any proud asian parents would do when gifted with a smart child. Kiriko took comfort in her school studies and worked hard because the school systems were so strict about regulations and time at school was the only time she got with other children, so as more years passed, she easily took on qualification tests and was determined that she could easily make it into college. About the time she turned 16, however, Kiriko's life twisted in the direction most would not have predicted for her.
From living in the large cities around japan all her life, Mrs Mika Takemura, Kiriko's mother, developed chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, COPD, from the harsh pollution levels she was often around. Her father however was raised in the country side and although most stereotypes for successful japanese business men point to them not caring for their wives as much, Mr. Takemura was a strong opposite of that. After a family decision, Mr. Takemura had taken his wife and Kiriko to live in Manhattan New York, where he got an america based position for the corporation he worked for and where his wife sought help at the Jo-Ann LeBuhn Center for Chest Diseases at New York Presbyterian Hospital.
With only one year of school left before moving onto college, Kiriko decided to finish off her education there in america, having found her english strong enough to do so. Within a month of the family's move she was transferred to UNIS, United Nations International School. The year was wonderful for everyone, Mr. Takemura topping as the new head of Teikoku Databank America, Inc, Mrs. Takemura recovering swiftly, and Kiriko being the valedictorian of her class.
Then, at age 17 in 2010, fresh from high school, Kiriko died.
Her parents and distant family, not even her friends, ever knew what truly happened. It was ruled that while driving through the outer edges of new york state to go visit a friend at their new campus her car had ran into the railing, breaking through and falling into heavy woods before continuing to roll into a lake and sink. Her car was found without her and after a month of searching she was ruled dead; body lost somewhere in the dense woods of the country side. However, on that night of June 13th, Kiriko had pulled over near that very spot, noticing a slumped over figure that appeared injured. The rest of that night was lost to Kiriko and she never knew exactly what happened, but had a theory she lived by. She had been attacked by a vampire whom drawn her in as by pretending to be old and possibly lost and instead of killing her, changed her into a vampire as well. Deep inside she almost understood that what happened with her car wasn't done by the man, but herself. There was no way she could return to her parents the way she was, even if she could remember that night, she knew she would make the sort of decision to fake her death rather if her theory was true.
Over time Kiriko learned more of what life was like, what human and animal blood tasted like, who magi were, and why they were always so aggressive toward her now. Very little changed about Kiriko herself, though. She didn't enjoy the conflict and found it hard to live in the new york area still in case she were recognized by those she loved. When she heard of the treaty between the magi and vampires in Las Vegas, Kiriko decided to move once more. She was use to large cities and thought she could be safe under an area with such a treaty, so life slowly began to re-form there in Nevada and she began to come back out of her shell.
To the day, she misses her old life and at times will be seen crying over her loses. Once a year she travels back to Manhattan to follow her parents around, just for one day, wishing she could hug her mother and father once more. To tell them both that she loves them, to congratulate her mother for being so strong and thank her for teaching her to be strong as well.
