STRENGTHS:
- Bright and bold; likes to talk people out of anger/angry situations rather than fight. She's gotten good at this.
- Listening- not pretending to listen, partially listening, or just listening but actively listening. She likes to observe what information she's given and help others out. Detailed instructions? No problem, she'll listen well!

- Fluent Spanish, Arabic, Hebrew & English
- Understanding through accents
- Keeping Secrets
- Blending into her surroundings/going unnoticed
WEAKNESSES:
- she has to help those in need. If she thinks someone needs her help she'll feel compelled to reach out and help them regardless of the personal danger.
- School; it's incredibly difficult for her to abandon school work or leave in the middle of a semester especially when she likes a class.
- Making real friends. The kind that she can trust. She doesn't have a lot of trust for the world and since losing her brother most of the trust she does have has dwindled and focused on Isa.
HABITS/QUIRKS:
- switching between languages mid-sentence when in a state of emotional stress/duress
- Panic attacks when her world is very heavily unbalanced; she'll collapse into a corner or start spouting random nonesense in any language except english
- Breaking things down into logical frames when something becomes too complex to comprehend immediately or emotionally stressful for her. ( emotional detachment )
- When completely destabilized by a situation she loses control of herself and shifts to escape to a safe place. This is in no way an emotional thing and nothing like a were's lost control. It's simply a means of escape for her.

- Loosing Isa (in any way)
- Street wars//fights/gang disagreements
- meeting her father/her father
- Leaving New York
- Getting close to anyone
- Spiders ( 8 legs of creepy! )

OVERALL PERSONALITY: A surprisingly serious girl that hasn't, yet, become austere, Vina has very little tolerance for people that waste time in school or gamble with futures. She Loves education and is desperate to use it to get somewhere in life. She isn't the kind of person that's very good in social situations when true emotions are involved as she's remained distant from everyone for so long. It's very difficult for her to reach out for help and trust anyone but incredibly easy to be the one people lean on for support.
She rarely even tells Isa when something is wrong, choosing instead to worry through a situation on her own. She hasn't come across anything she couldn't handle on her own, yet, but that doesn't mean she won't and when she does it'll be that much harder for her to ask for help.
Despite this emotional detached and logical view she has on life she's good at feiging emotions in the hustle-and-bustle of a hum-drum high school life. If no one notices that her laughs are a little fake or her smiles never touch her eyes then she's good there. She doesn't much care about what people think of her but she is fiercely loyal to Isa and refuses to let anyone say anything bad about her sister. Unashamed of her excellence in education she will rip people a knew one in every language she can just to make the understand how pissed she is ending in english so that they're thoroughly flustered.
She does not approach strangers unless they appear to be in need of assistance and usually requires being approached in school. This is genuine shyness and awkwardness coming through. It's a sign that she hasn't completely detached from the world and that there's hope for her yet.
At home she's a bright, energetic and chatty butterfly with Isa always trying to make things cheerful, warm and friendly. Doing her best to keep wherever they're living warm and "home" feeling when you walk through the door she doesn't have time to waste on very petty things and the times she escapes to the mall or runs off shopping she makes plans before doing so ( not quite OCD enough about this to write a log down but she has considered it! ) Cryptic notes and codes are a hobby for her and she adores finding them around the house and solving them ( and writing more in return! )

HISTORY: Vina was forced to grow up early, and grow up fast. Her mother abandoned them when she was around a year old leaving Vina and her siblings in the care of a neighbor woman, Espina, who assumed the role of mother for them. This was a stressful time for the older siblings and Vina, bright child that she was, made it a point to do everything she could to make things easier on her siblings from helping with what chores she could to absorbing every bit of knowledge offered to her like a sponge. It's hard to say what was her actual first language, Spanish or Arabic, but it's for sure that english was the fourth and last language she has learned so far with French being the next on her list.
She was the quiet child in school, appearing when they could afford for her to go out and be exposed to the world and never once failing a class. She was incredibly proud of the grade school achievements and honor rolls she received and when Espina began to praise her for these things she started applying herself doubly hard thinking that, perhaps, she could do something with what she was learning! She became a very logical child that didn't have time for fantasy none-sense such as holidays ( not that she learned much about holidays or religions anyway ) and quickly learned that tight lips and keeping secrets, well, secret was important. Most of what little Davina learned about behavior and culture was a mixture of Hispanic, and Arabic and she developed a strange blend of the two as she got older and decided to put them together.
Around 4 years old it became clear that she needed to be taught how to control her shape shifting. Both her siblings did this in secret, at night, for an hour before bed when Maria would not be around to witness it as she'd be asleep herself. She learned how to alter her appearance by 7 and was abusing this ability when things drastically changed. Her brother was brutally killed in front of her and she was too young to clearly comprehend why. She began placing things into emotionally detached logical frames.
It took months for Davina to accept that he just wasn't coming back. There would be no Altan strolling in late at night to give her lessons. No hand games, no falling asleep reading a book with her older brother or practicing all the languages they knew in odd rounds of three ( it just wasn't the same without Altan ) and there would be no more safe nights for Isa. When she finally came around to accepting this fact she decided it was time to put herself to good use; Isa didn't have to be the only one doing something to support them! Unfortunately all a seven year old could do was shop lift. Changing her personal features made it easier but she was no mastermind at it and store managers were hawks with their eyes.
Another shock hit her when Maria died and Isa moved them to a new location. Changes started happening frequently at that point and Davina learned she had to adapt or be left behind and she couldn't be left behind because Isa wouldn't let her and she couldn't hold Isa back!
At eleven she decided she knew what she wanted to do and it involved education and a real job. She was going to make all the best grades ( which she'd never failed to achieve, not even 1 B on a single assignment let along class ). It people thought she was a bit odd or fake in school she didn't care. It wasn't their business anyway. At first she refused to make friends and then, realizing this made her stick out too much she hesitantly made friends. Unfortunately constantly changing schools made it difficult to keep friends and make very close friends so she stuck to light, easy to escape contact and that's the way it's been for her through the years. She hasn't once given up practicing her shapeshifting and she refuses to give up any sort of language.
