OVERALL PERSONALITY: ∙ DETERMINED: When Luther has his mind set on something it takes a whole lot of convincing and pleading to get his mind set elsewhere. And even then you need more than just luck to convince him otherwise. He will stop at nothing to achieve his goal, whether it be something small as hunting for food or larger, finding his wife...or satisfying his hunger for revenge. Even though he knows there is a possibility shes dead since their marriage was over 50 years ago, but deep down he knows shes still out there somewhere. And nothing but certain death can stop Luther from getting what he wants. Unlike most vampires however he will not harm a innocent in the process and will most likely find another way that avoids such situations.
∙ LOYAL A loyal friend to the end Luther was raised to never turn your back on a neighbor and to defend his home and family as if he had no choice. A true American all the way he loved his country and his hometown. But that didn't mean he would stand with just anybody. No you had to earn his respect whether it be a good deed or you were 'his kind of person' as his father used to say. And this followed him...even after his 'death'.
∙ CHARISMATIC: With a southern accent and charming smile Luther was never denied anything when it came to the opposite sex. They flocked to his side the moment he walked through the door with little effort at all. And this was before he became a vampire. But Luther was never one to take advantage of people, atleast not entirely in a bad way. He used his charisma to learn what he wanted to know or succeed in life or in his current goal. For his witty comments and southern charm wooed the ladies while for the men he would sway them to his side by means of choosing his words wisely or simply by bribing them with booze, women, or fast cars. Still, regardless if he was pursuing a lead or just having a laugh with a friend, Luther has always been the social type.
∙ STUBBORN: He's as stubborn as a blue-nose mule', as his grandmother used to say about Luther. One of the many traits he inherited from his father. And she was right. He was as stubborn as he was determined. Luther is set in his ways and doesn't like change, often reacting negatively towards change he doesn't like. He is stuck on the past and is a creature of habit, although he won't admit that to you.

HISTORY: On July 2nd, 1921, two days before the most celebrated holiday in the South, a healthy baby boy was brought into existence. His name. Luther Alexander Knight. He would be the youngest of six, the baby of the family. Their family owned a dairy and agricultural farm in the heart of Kansas and in the middle of no where. With their closest neighbor more than a mile away the only way for the seven children to occupy their time was to work. And that's what each kid did once they were the right age. Back then the moment you were tall enough to reach the counter, you could shovel cow manure. On their spare time or on holiday's they spent their days outdoors, never spending a full day inside unless a storm. It didn't matter what it was, they found entertainment and anything and everything around them from throwing rocks into the stream or pretending to drive in the broke down car in dad's garage. But what Luther loved to do was fly. From the moment he was able to walk he would climb everything and anything, even the high places like the kitchen counter and would jump off as if he was flying. That's all he ever wanted to do.And at that age he didn't care if he had hit the floor as many as 100 times he wanted to fly and would keep trying until he did. Of course his parents didn't like this and feared he would hurt himself or worse. But his siblings all thought this was hilarious and would tease him for it until the last time he saw them.
This would carry on into his early teens and into high school and would eventually escalate to bigger stunts. He got a thrill out of jumping off of cliffs and knowing the other kids a school they would make it into a gambling game. Does he survive or die? Who knows, but eventually by the end of it all Luther would be coming home with a ton of money because of it, making his parents extremely happy. With the effects from the Depression their food was scarce and were afraid they would lose their home and farm. He couldn't explain why he survived though. There were many of times he had came close to a rock or a fallen tree. It has seemed Luther had a guardian angel on his side watching over him, and he still believed that to this day.
Since his younger years he had always wanted to pursue his love of flying and possibly make a life out of it in the service. To him it seemed like fate because just a few months after his 18th birthday WWII broke loose in Europe. The United States declared they would not get involved, but that didn't stop Luther from joining the service. Even though he would miss his family he knew he had to leave the small town that still holds a soft spot on his heart. For years he trained to be a fighter pilot and finished at the top of his group. With many hours of flying under his belt he felt confident he could survive anything now. But when the United States decided to join the fight, Luther was proven he wasn't as invincible as he thought. While flying over the just bombed London he was surprised by a Axis fighter pilot and shot at making him crash into a building, leaving him injured severally but alive. The field nurses and doctors found him and brought him back to health, but his chances at flying ever again were slaughtered. His coordination was not as it used to be as was his strength. He grew into a deep depression and now in London he had no way of getting back home. Nor did he want to. He felt like a failure and couldn't bare to show his face to his family. Now the only thing left he could do to survive off the streets was to fight. Boxing to be more exact. Years of working on the farm had paid off and even though he was not as light on his feet anymore, he still managed to bust a few teeth and break a few arms and legs. Enough to buy food and a bed. And in the long run it helped build his strength back up close to what it used to be. But without anyone to share it with it was all pointless. He thought this would be his life and was content with just wasting away, waiting to die.
That was until he met her. Brooke Sinclaire was her name. She was...is the most ravishing creature on this plant in his eyes. Luther never really believed in love at first sight, but the moment he laid eyes on her it seemed that the whole world around them stopped and just looked at her glory. Little did he know this woman would actually have eyes for him too. The two hit it off right away and were falling madly in love. Luther felt utter happiness. He was complete. He never thought it was possible but yet again his guardian angel came through and guided him in her direction. Soon they would marry, and although he hated the idea his family wouldn't be there to see it they proceeded with the wedding anyways.
The night of their wedding was to be the most painful day of Luther's entire life. Not only physical but emotional as well. The ceremony was done and over with and now it was just the two of them in their home. Enjoying their first night together as husband and wife they were suddenly interrupted by a neighbor of theirs. Little did they know he was obsessed with Brooke, and he was a vampire. Luther tried with all his strength to fight the intruder but he was no match for him and instead was bitten. He could feel his body grow limp as he drained him of his blood. The color faded from his face and the screams from the distraught Brooke were quickly fading. But before the vampire could finish him completely he was dropped to the ground and left unconscious as he went after Brooke.
Luther doesn't know exactly what happened after he fell unconscious or how the police were notified of the attack, possibly from another neighbor as Brooke's scream could practically wake up the whole neighborhood. When he came to he was already a vampire and was forced to dig himself out of the ground. Later on he would eventually learn that he was found by a vampire and turned, one who happened to be a cop as well. After learning of the attack the man felt sorry for Luther and decided to give him a second chance. Although Luther was never one to intentionally hurt a innocent, he was still a newborn and at first had trouble controlling his urges. With the help of his maker however he managed to find a way to control his urges and ultimately found a new source of nourishment. Despite his appreciation for his maker however once he learned a bit of self control he left his sire in search for his wife, hoping that the vampire turned her instead of killing her.
Now alone and out for revenge he sought out the vampire who attacked him and his wife, but after 66 years of searching with no luck he figured she was dead and gone. Leaving him alone for eternity and back into the state he was in before she met him, depressed and alone. But out of desperation he hoped that somehow she was still alive somewhere. If he somehow survived the struggle Brooke could of too. Maybe she changed like him? Although that would be a fate almost as horrible as permanent death but at least if she was a vampire that meant she was okay. And that was enough to gather the courage to return to the States and to keep looking for her even when others thought her survival to be impossible.
