”This is how I show my love” he began to sing loudly in the street, waving his beer can to the air. ”I made it in my mind because... urgh... I blame it on my A.D.D. Baaaaaaby” Swaying for a moment he thought over the words of the song, mumble a of few of the previously mentioned. ”This is how an angel dies, yeah fucking dies! I blame it on my own sick pride, Blame it on my A.D.D. Baby baby baaaaaby! Sail, Sail, go on fucking sail, you sailing sail! Maybe I should cry for help, Maybe I should kill myself” Suddenly interrupted by a complaining neighbour shouting out into the night, Urjasz flung his hands up and swore with his spare hand at all the directions, screaming “BLAME IT ON MY A.D.D. YOU FUCKS! MAYBE I'M A DIFFERENT BREED, MAYBE I'M NOT LISTENING, SO BLAME IT ON MY FUC-” The sickening sound of bones breaking and the glass bottle smashing replaced the drunken singing as a pick up truck slammed into the side of him, sending him flying across several gardens before smashing through a hedge.
As the morning sun began to burn upon his face, Urjasz slowly awoke from his unwelcome slumber. Laying there for a moment he stared up at the sky and the hedge branches torn around him. And then the pain hit him. Along with the hang over. Clutching his face in agony he tried to remember what the hell had happened. The last thing he remembered was punching some.... oh right. The Irish group. Something about drinking each other under the table. Something about getting into a bar fight. Then there was the road. Then the headlights. Ah. The headlights. Bastards must have left him for dead. He'd certainly be keeping an eye out for dented vehicles. Tapping his side he was relieved to find his phone and flicking it on, he sent a quick misspelled text to his friend, the local mechanic. If anyone needed work done he was the man to see. Still lying in the hedge with his legs up in the air, he finished his text before rolling out into someone's garden.
Upon the grass were marks and tuffs missing where he'd bounced across it before ending up in the hedge. Rising to his feet he immediately fell forward in a numb pain and confusion. Twisting around he noticed that his knee had twisted the wrong way. A bummer for humans, an easy yet painful issue for immortals. Clutching his lower leg, he braced himself before twisting it back into place with a terrible tearing noise. It would smart for some time and he didn't even know if he could walk on it. Rolling onto his side, he looked around the garden and spied a deck chair outside. That'd have to do for the time being. Crawling at an annoying slow pace, he finally reached it and pulled himself up onto it. A moment's peace would certainly help the banging headache and he figured it'd be a little while before he could walk properly. It was only then that he heard the door to the apartments next to the garden open and he sat there looking dumb at the woman stood in it. Without thinking, he smiled and waved.

Knowing who you are is confidence. Confidence, not cockiness. Cockiness is knowing who you are and pushing it down everyone's throat.
Things had been going quite well. Almost too well, is that even possible? Gia was reluctant to think that everything was just fine and dandy, but for the time being, she was going to enjoy it while it lasts. The past week had been met with a few pleasant surprises. People, she had actually met some people, which was a bit of a relief, she didn’t know how much longer she was going to last until she snapped. The ray of light peaking through her shades awaked Giovanna, it was a sunny day and she was going to be outside enjoying it. The autumn and winter seasons put a damper on her outdoor activities, and she had always tried to take advantage of the sunlight while it lasted, especially since now the days were getting shorter.
She had only managed a few hours of sleep, courtesy of her nightly activity. It didn’t bother her much, plus she had been spending most of her nights relaxing high in the trees above the forest ground. It was a successful attempt in trying to keep her shifts more lax, and allowed for a more soothing night. Although, she had the occasional nightmare, they were not as frequent as the used to be, and Gia has managed to come to a somewhat normal, functioning, sleep schedule. She had been trying her best to not let the dreams get to her, but after she thought about it and realized that there was probably more to it than she originally thought, she began to invest sometime at the local library. She knew, as a biologist the basic mechanical functions and behavior of sleep, and dreaming. It was odd then, that she found herself having extremely vivid dreams, knowing that in order to do so she was in REM sleep, and yet always awoke dazed and groggy. Giovanna had put her main research aside for the time being, and focused her attention on two things; her dreams and sleep patterns, and the one unique thing about herself, the fact that she was a shifter.
It was puzzling, how was it possible? She agreed that in order to not overwhelm herself, she would focus on one, and then the other. So for now, that mystifying thought was on the back burner. Gia showered, got dressed, and ate breakfast. She decided to take the longer scenic route to the library, potentially stopping by her favorite spot before being cooped up in the dim library. The shifter was for once, happy. She made her way down the stairs of her apartment building and stepped outside as the warm sun hit her face. She smiled widely and placed her hands into the pockets of her sweater. Her purse fell to her wrist, and she took her hand out, repositioning her bag on her shoulder. Before moving, she panned her head around enjoying the view of the quaint town, when her eyes landed on a man in a chair in the neighboring garden. Odd. Gia raised a questioning eyebrow as he smiled and waved to her. She pursed her lips and furrowed her brow, confused, not recognizing the man at all. Do I know him? She didn’t think so. Awkwardly, she smiled back, and gave a small passing wave.

Now the two seemed to be locked in an awkward moment of waves and smiles, Urjasz had no idea what to do now. She looked confused. He looked positively mental. What a lovely pair they made. ”My legs are fucked” he blurted out, looking away for a moment in confusion yet still waving like the simple fool he was. Did he really just say that? Not “Oh hi there, lovely day” or “Lovely town”. Nope. My. Legs. Are. Fucked. What a great start. She could be the next best friend. Lover. Even enemy. The options were endless. Yet his legs were fucked. Standard. ”You are really pretty, did you know that?” Well isn't this just great. Now he's a bumbling twelve year old! Why couldn't he just, you know, talk normally? He did not doubt that the alcohol in his system was not helping yet he knew that there was a vulnerability to him in his weakened state. ”Forgive me. I'm stuck here and with no company. Surely you could give me some until I am well enough to continue on my way? I can smell the shifter in you from here.”
That was more like the sober Urjasz. It was that scent. Oh how he loved the scent of immortals. Especially shifters. There was no doubt as to why wolves tended to favour the taste of shifters to the others. It was the smell. It drove them into a frenzy. Urjasz was in no position to go hunting and in his older age he could control the hunger. He was no vampire. His hunger did not control him. ”How about you pull up a chair and we talk. Just talk. Otherwise I will shout so loud that the founding families come for you.” Still waving, he smiled once more, this time with menace before lowering his hand from the wave to motion towards the nearest chair. Being intimidating when you had just told the world that your legs are fucked was not exactly something that went hand in hand. Right now he was more lonely than he was looking for a fight. Sometimes he wondered just how many immortals he would find if he walked around town just sniffing them out. It was a wonder that these so called founding families had not just done this already yet he had never even seen them. Bastards were fragments of the town's imagination.
Moving a chair near to him as best he could from his seat, he began to tell a story. ”In the old world there was just man. The Children Of Darwin some call them but it's a new name, in the grand scheme of things. Then they found magic. Magic lend to curses. Over time six new species came into the world. The vampires. Children of the night. Cursed to watch the world from the shadows with ambition that can never be truly achieved. Then you have the wolves like me. Cursed to hunt in the shadows and to kill for anger. The bears. They are pure anger and strength. Cursed to battle their anger forever. Cats. Sleek and agile, they are weaker than the others and are cursed to live in a world where they are low on the food chain. Shifters. Like you. Cursed to hide from the rest of the immortal world. Magi. Magical humans with a knowledge of this world. Seven species all looking to control the world yet so determined to hide from just one species. All these powerful species just....hiding. Not me. Not my family. This town is about to see a new lease on life. It's best you get to know its new ruler.”

Knowing who you are is confidence. Confidence, not cockiness. Cockiness is knowing who you are and pushing it down everyone's throat.
Gia’s big round hazel eyes remained locked on the mystery man in the garden. She ignored the awkwardness of the situation as best as she could. It was usually not bothersome to her to be in a gauche state with another person. It was, if anything quite natural for her to be the one to turn it around and make the situation to be more comfortable. Unfortunately, he made it worse before she could do any fixing. Initially she was confused, but as he began to speak, her confusion turned into concern. The bluntness and the pure randomness that was coming out of his mouth was uncanny, but strangely amusing. Her eyes darted to his legs, then back to his face. What happened to him? It was worrying. Something serious must have happened to him in order for his legs to be as messed up as he suggests. It was definitely no twist of an ankle.
In an attempt to overlook the words falling out of his mouth, she tried to take it lightly to the best of her ability and plastered a faint smile of amusement across her face. However, within an instant, her face went white, she felt the blood rush out of her face, and her heart sank deep into the pit of her stomach, her mouth went dry, and it was becoming difficult to swallow. Gia stood there dumbstruck. Her facial expressions went blank and she just stood there frozen, completely bewildered.
A shifter. How in the world does he know I’m a shifter? Panic began to quickly set in, as Gia remained frozen, silent, unsure of what to do, or how to respond. Her heart was racing and her breathing became quick and shallow. The founding families? What was he talking about? Eye’s still locked on the man she watched as he pulled a chair beside him meant for her. Do I go? Do I stay? She partially wanted to just shift into a fly and get as far away from this man as possible. What would be the harm? He already knows she’s a shifter. Still stationary her ears began to twitch as she listened; he began to tell a story.
Vampires? Wolves? Bears? Cats? Magi? Shifters? More shifters? There are more? Not only that but vampires are real? He’s a wolf? Superior species all in hiding? New ruler? It was information overload. Giovanna began to shake. Her mind was going miles per second and she couldn’t get it to stop. She needed answers, the curiosity in her was becoming unbearable, and she needed to know. “How do you know I’m a shifter?” She blurted out. The intense question made its presence known. Gia shook her head, closing her eyes tightly, she thought back to the days in Central Park.

The Young Don't Know The Pain Of The Old
Despite still being clearly under the influence of some percentage of alcohol in his system, he still spotted her glance to his legs and without a moment's pause he gestured to them exclaiming ”Bastard ran me over and left me in that hedge over there. My legs are fucked for the time being but I've fixed them. Just got to wait out the healing process. Give me five minutes and I'll fighting strong!” Having reeled off a bunch of information at her, he tried to focus on how she was reacting. Not only was the after effects of the alcohol affecting how he behaved, it was affecting his abilities to read people's body language. As far as he could tell she looked really shocked by what he was saying and it was not the usual reaction he got from immortals in this town. Normally they would be hushing him up and telling him to either leave or continue to shut up. Naturally he did neither of the options. Given that he had been drinking the night before, he opted to wait and see what she did. Despite being overly aware of how vulnerable he was right now, he still believed he could take her if push came to shove. Shifters were well known to be the prey of wolves and it was almost unheard of a shifter actively taking on a wolf once it had revealed itself.
Yet she seemed to be more frightened of one simple piece of information; how he knew what she was. Leaning forward as best as he could, he almost whispered ”I can taste what you are in the air. Almost as much as I can smell the scent that gives away every part of you. I can taste how tender you flesh would be. I can smell how good you are to keep alive. Two senses battling out for the deciding vote. Kill or keep. Both screaming that you're a shifter. Lucky you. I vote keep. Too pretty to eat.” Realising that he had very clearly flirted, he paused for a moment and stared to the side as if he was staring at the very words he had just said in a confused manner. Well this was new. Eating shifters was normal. Wanting to.... well, mate with a shifter. Now that was a new feeling. He was sure it was the alcohol talking. Looking at her again he felt a different kind of hungry. A lust. Realising that he was staring very intensely he suddenly averted his eyes and announced ”I should go now” before rising to his feet. Taking his first step he promptly face planted into the ground and with a groan sort of lay there, face still in the dirt.
”Tell you what” he offered, his breath kicking out dirt from under his squashed face as he spoke, ”give me a hand recovering and I'll keep you on the “Keep” list. It would appear I'm not quite as fit as I would normally be.” Those very words pained him to say and he could feel his pride kicking his insides as he lay there in pain. Rolling onto his back, he spat away some dirt from his mouth and looked at her with a dumb expression. ”Who the fuck are you anyway?” he rambled, realising that he had no idea who the hell she was and what she was even doing there. Assassin was certainly out the window; she would have gutted him ages ago if that was the case. Looking down to his trousers, he realised he had a rock hard erection under the clothes and he just stared at it for a long, awkward moment. ”Thank fuck that still works” he suddenly blurted out in a tipsy daze. Well this was certainly embarrassing and he was certain that if him being a wolf didn't scare her off, the fella downstairs standing to attention certainly would. Unless she was into crippled wolves with boners. Something told him that wasn't the case.

Giovanna Palladino Knowing who you are is confidence. Confidence, not cockiness. Cockiness is knowing who you are and pushing it down everyone's throat. Thinking of all the things she had learned from her grandparents, the long days spent in the park, not once did they mention the existence of any other creatures. She was so focused on herself and learning that she had never even thought to question them. Although, if they had thought that something was of importance, they would tell her, wouldn’t they? Giovanna was now questioning everything she had thought she knew, replaying various moments in her head, nothing shouting out that they might have at least hinted to her about others. She was still frozen, utterly in shock. She blinked a few times, eyes still locked on the man in front of her. He was still talking, something about his legs, but she wasn’t listening, she was now trapped in her own mind. The fact that she was still standing was remarkable. Although, part of it was due to her wanting to be able to leave quickly if need be. Gia slowly tried to calm herself best as she could but he made it worse before she could make any real dent in it. Listening to each of his words, she felt her breathing slow down, and become shallow. She felt her urge wanting so desperately to take over, her mind telling her to run, but she couldn’t, she wanted to know more. Risking her life for knowledge was not a new thing. She would die trying to find out something she didn’t know, perhaps this was one of her weaknesses. The only difference was last time someone else died for her. The guilt began to fill her mind; this was not the place or time.
Trying to so desperately remain calm, Gia let out a small sigh of relief, knowing she wasn’t dead yet, but the danger was still there. She needed to say something, anything. One to make sure her voice still worked, and two to try to shut him up. Gia opened to her mouth slowly, just as she was about to speak she watched the stranger attempt to leave, which did not end well. Her eyes widened, and she reached out to him, as if that was going to make any difference. Every part of her told her to stay where she was, or to leave, it was the perfect opportunity, but she could not help but feel bad for this man, she wanted to help. The shifter was stuck in a weird limbo with herself.
It was decided, although she was going against everything she felt and was told, she felt her legs begin to move, bringing her closer to peril each step she took. Still half unsure of her own body, she felt herself slowly coming back. She scoffed to herself as he mentioned keeping her on the keep list. If she was going to die, it would not be decided by some stranger who claims he’s a wolf. Knowing that it was completely plausible that he was telling the truth and could rip her apart in a blink of an eye she kept the thought to herself. Realizing that she was closer then she’d like to be, she stopped, still a good length away. Composing herself, she finally managed to spit out some words, “I’m not quite sure how I can help you.” She said softly averting her eyes for a split second, purposely ignoring his question. The last thing she wanted was for him to find out any more than he already knew about her. words: 584 • OOC: Sorry it took so long! :/ • outfit:HERE
