-currently in progress considering i was pulled off by an agitated madre-
It's one of those stories that starts out with "It was just like any other day..." and you immediately know everything is going to go for the worse. Although I think that only going at the beginning of those black and white mystery movies. Unfortunately, this isn't a mystery; or a movie. So...it was just like any other day...
It wasn't that we thought we were the shit or anything. We were only sophomores; we just naturally didn't take anyone else's shit and, let's face it, together we looked more gorgeous than we did separated. There's something about identical twins that's sexy, somehow. Fixing ourselves in our last class of the day, Joyce leaned over to me with an excited look on her face, all the smugness from the hallway evaporated. "I'm so excited! Aussie's coming home today! This week has been monster." I chuckled and the teacher called for us to pay attention as the class began. We brushed fingers, our no-longer-secret-extremely-short-handshake, and leaned back in our seats.
"Aussie" was Joyce's boyfriend, Austin Hemmerage Jenkins. They had been together for almost three years now and although at first Austin protested against the nickname Aussie - since it sounded to him like one of those things that ended in poo - it grew on him and everyone they met thought it was much more 'hip' than just Austin.

Joyce and I walked through the halls to our last class, grinning in that way that people said made us look so identical that it was impossible to tell us apart since usually the only way people could tell was by the look in our eyes. Jordan, #23 on the football team, and his groupies called out to us and whistled, winking at Joyce. She raised her eyebrow maliciously and he immediately saw the mistake he made. "Sorry J, meant for lovely El." I rolled my eyes and my sister and I brushed past him without so much as a backward glance. It wasn't that we thought we were the shit or anything.
