I'll be the one if you want meto.♥ Anywhere I would have followed you. Say something I'm giving up on you.
Grace loved high school. She loved it. Everything about it was fun, she thought. The activities, the events, the seasonal sports, everything. High school was easy for her. She was in the running for being valedictorian, she was head of the cheer team, and was also in the running for being Prom Queen. She lived the golden life. The only thing that was missing was her Prince Charming. Any high school girl wanted that... It was normal, but she had never really dated anyone. It was weird, for such a pretty girl to stay single for so long. It was probably because any guy that dated her had some things to deal with. Grace Andrews' family was part of the Founding Families council. Everyone knew that. Her father never really approved of any guys in the town for that exact reason, either. He always asked her about the other sons of the Founding Families. Grace would always just roll her eyes and go on about her business. She didn't want a relationship with someone just because of their family lineage. That wasn't fair.
It was finally the end of the school day, but Grace's day still wasn't over. She had cheer practice to be at, and really couldn't be late. Basketball season would be coming up soon and that also meant cheer competitions. They had to be on their game and in top condition if they wanted to win the State Championship this year. Grace got to her locker, turning the combination until it clicked open. She stared at her gym bag for a second. She always had the worst time getting the thing out because it was way too big to fit in the narrow locker. She sighed, grabbing a hold of one of the straps and pulling. No gain. Seriously? she mumbled under her breath. Grace furrowed her brows. Bracing herself, she yanked on it again, but this time... The whole strap broke. With a high-pitched squeal, Grace stumbled backwards, and expected to land right on her butt, but instead slammed back into a person. TAG: Chase Harper Notes: Hope you like her. <3 Muse: Decent. | There was nothing better than blueberry pancakes on a Friday afternoon, well except for no work but Chase wasn’t that lucky. His luck only ran long enough for him to coax a stack of blueberry pancakes out of the cook before he left for the day and that was good enough for him. Though Chase was still on his shift after a few hours of work time already under his belt the growling noises coming from his stomach suggested to him it was time for a break. He sat there with, for the first time in a while, a gleeful look on his face. No matter what kind of mood he was in he could always count on his blueberry pancakes to cheer him up. No pancakes were as good as his moms but for now this would do. When he was only half way through with his food his boss walked up to him with what looked to be an angry look on his face. Suddenly he could feel his muscles tighten up and his throat became dry and itchy. The closer his boss approached him the more he tried to figure out if he had done anything wrong, or hadn’t done anything at all, but nothing came to mind. Finally when his boss reached his side Chase was close to the breaking point and waited on the edge of his seat for his boss to tell him what he needed.
”I need a favor. I need you to go down to the school and pick up Bella.” the boss said in an irritated tone about his 17 year old daughter. Chase didn’t know Bella very well but he knew who she hung out with and from that Chase only assumed his boss’s irritance was from that. ”O-okay….” Chase said in an unsure tone. ”She’s supposed to have cheer practice today but she’s grounded so I told her to come straight here instead after school. But since she’s not here yet I’m assuming she stayed anyways.” Chase’s boss then reached into his pocket and pulled out a set of car keys and held them out for him to take. ”Take my truck, pick her up and bring her straight here then afterwards you can take the rest of the day off.” Chase was hesitant on taking the keys but when he finally did his boss smiled. ”I’m sorry to have to ask you to do this but the shipment of frozen foods hasn’t arrived yet and I’m apparently the only one who knows how to do inventory around here!” he ended in a shout as he looked over at one of the managers.
Despite the awkwardness of the favor Chase would have been a fool not to take the opportunity to get out of work early, if only he could finish his pancakes first. ”It’s no problem sir. I’m happy to do it.” he said with a small smile and he wasn’t lying. The boss raised his arm and lightly padded Chase on the back. ”Good boy. I knew I could count on you. Now take good care of her and if you have any trouble with her you call me.” Chase quietly nodded and with that his boss walked off. Chase waited until his boss was out of sight before he forced down the rest of his pancakes down quickly followed by a large gulp of water and then he was set.
Even though the school wasn’t that far away it was still nice for Chase to not have to walk all the way there and back with someone who would most likely fight her way out of going back to the Grille with him. Chase personally didn’t care if Bella returned or not but keeping his job was what pushed him to try his best. When he arrived at the school he parked near the front and turned the ignition off but didn’t hop out right away. His eyes starred at the large red doors leading inside the hallway he spent most of his time trying to hide from bullies; both students and teachers alike. Not everyone in his high school years was cruel to him though, he had a few friends here and there but nothing special and of course he had Bianca. Being in the parking lot of the school for the first time since graduation brought back a lot of memories that flooded through his mind and it made it that much more difficult to build up the courage to get out of the car. Though he had already graduated and technically had nothing to fear from the place anymore but the scars were still there and they were something that wouldn’t heal for a long time.
Finally after almost five minutes of sitting in the truck he managed to gather up enough courage to get out of the truck. He first thought to look on the football field where sometimes the cheerleaders practiced on a nice day but there was no sign of her. Then he proceeded towards the gym where he thought she might be but nothing. In a desperate moment to find her he opted for the last place she might be; the locker room. Slowly he peeked his head in, unsure of who was in there and didn’t want to intrude on their privacy. ”Bella?” he called out, hoping she would answer and he wouldn’t have to go inside. When he received no answer he decided to force himself to look, the lively hood of his job depended on it. With a heavy sigh he stepped in and continued to look for her down each isle. ”Bella?” he called out again right before he heard a voice. He stopped in his tracks so he could listen in better on who’s voice it was and when it spoke again he knew it wasn’t her.
Still it was a familiar voice and it sounded like she was in some sort of distress so being the gentleman that he was, despite his slight nervousness due to the fact it was a girl no matter if he knew her or not, he headed towards the direction of the voice until he spotted the short blonde fooling with her bag. As Grace, as he knew her name to be, attempted to pull her over-sized bag from the locker he made his way over to her in order to help but once he reached her the strap of her bag broke and because of the force she was pushed back with the strap in hand. Luckily for her Chase was already standing behind her by the time she began to fall back and in an effort to keep her from hitting the ground he remained firm on his spot behind her and grabbed her arms the moment their bodies made contact. When she fell back onto him he couldn’t stop himself from falling back a little himself but the row of lockers prevented him from moving much further from where he was standing. Once he knew she had a good footing he let her go so he didn’t make the situation awkward for the two of them, though that didn’t stop his cheeks from turning a deep pink anyways. ”Here, let me help with that.” he said before moving from behind her and stepped up to her locker. He examined it for a moment before gripping the bag itself tightly and yanked hard. It didn’t come out at first but after a few tries he was successful. ”Wow, that was in there good. Here ya go.” he said as he handed her the bag. |

I'll be the one if you want meto.♥ Anywhere I would have followed you. Say something I'm giving up on you.
When someone caught her, she really wasn't expecting it. At all, actually. A startled yelp left her throat and she bounced quickly away from her rescuer, turning around to see who it was. Chase Harper. Grace had grown up with him, pretty much. He was a year ahead of her, but they were both descendants of the Founding Families. He was a handsome kid, but so picked on in high school. She hated seeing it, and every time she did she would go to his defense, finding some way to help him. He had always been shy, which she found adorable; but she never really saw Chase as anything more than a friend. He was almost like that second cousin you never wanted to admit was cute, but really was, but if you ever thought of something like that you wanted to throw up cause it was just that weird.
Chase Harper. What are you doing here? she asked, kind of surprised to see him here. He had graduated last year. It was a huge deal seeing as how he was a Harper son. She watched as he moved in front of her locker, offering to help her get her bag out. Thank you... she said with a soft laugh. They really need to make those bigger. Grace stood slightly behind him, hoping the same thing that happened to her didn't happen to him. Grace didn't think she'd be able to catch him nearly as graceful as he caught her. After a few tugs, though, he had the bag free. A bright smile lit up her face, her blue eyes dancing. Thank you again, Chase. I really appreciate it. she said, setting the bag down on a bench. Looks around, confusion setting back in. Now to figure out what he was doing here. Uhm. Are you looking for someone or...? Glances around again, looking to see if anyone was coming in here to meet him or what. If you are I can help you find them. The only people that are really here are the study groups after school and well, the cheer team. TAG: Chase Harper Notes: Kinda crappy. Still working out the kinks. Muse: Great. | Uhm. Are you looking for someone or...? If you are I can help you find them. The only people that are really here are the study groups after school and well, the cheer team. Chase raised his hand to the back of his neck and scratched it. "Heh...yeah as a matter of fact I am. Do you know where Bella is? Her father asked me to pick her up." he looked around. "I'm going to guess she's at the cheer practice where she's not supposed to be?" Chase personally didn't care if the girl was or not but he did care about his boss's rage aimed at him for not following his orders so in a way finding her was crucial. After he gave her time to answer he remembered how rude he may have seemed to have jumped into taking her help without atleast asking how she had been since they last saw each other. "So....how have you been? It's your senior year isn't it? Enjoying it any?" he asked and quietly swallowed the large ball in his throat that appeared shortly after memories of his own senior year surfaced. Fortunately for him it wasn't as bad as freshman year but if Chase had the opportunity to relive his senior year all over again he'd probably run and hide. He knew her story would be the opposite and in a small way it made him a bit jealous but with a pretty face and a personality to match he couldn't blame her for her good fortune, he was too busy mentally gawking to anyway. |
