YOU AND ME
forevermore
Queens was a very rare place for Liu to ever venture in to. The only reason why she was there tonight was because of a photo shoot in one of the more rustic buildings. She was needed for it, because it was an article on her rising fame with her designs in the fashion world. Liu didn't really enjoy doing photo shoots, because they posed her as woman with a silver tongue and a cold heart. That is why she was dressed in a sharp tuxedo dress, five inch red heels, and ruby tear drop earrings hanging from a platinum chain. Her waist length raven hair was in large, rounded waves, framing her oval shaped face perfectly. Liu's eyes felt heavy with the amount of dressing they did to her eyes, giving her a more cat-like appearance. It was around midnight by the time Liu left the building. Her car was parked in a parking garage about four blocks away, but she didn't mind walking all that much. It gave her a chance to breathe and be outside of building walls for a little while.
Work kept Liu pent up most of the time. Being an upscale fashion designer did that. She was never not busy. On the weekends, when she wasn't in the office, she was in her apartment suite drawing or coming up with new ideas, or traveling for her job. The only time she actually got a break was when she took her vacation time. That was normally when she traveled. Most of the time, she escaped back to Athens, Greece where she had spent a lot of her time in her mid-thousands. It was the first place she went after she left Russia. A small frown appeared on her lips at the thought. It had been so long since she had seen Dimitri, and it broke her heart. She had left Russia because of him. It wasn't because he did something to her to scare her off or hurt her; it was because of her feelings for him. She had felt selfish; only due to the fact he was still mourning over the death of his wife and children. She couldn't let him see that, at all, so she had left. That was when she began traveling. More than ever. She allowed herself to get lost in the different cultures, breaking free of her shackles and living.
Liu wrapped her arms around her small frame, rounding a corner, the only sound on the empty street was the rhythmic click of her heels on the concrete. A soft gust of wind picked up her voluminous hair, pushing it to fall over her shoulders and down her back. Her deep blue eyes were lost in thought as she walked, and she was hardly paying attention to anything going on around her. People always told her that it would get her into trouble one day, being so oblivious to the dangers around her, but she just brushed them off with a smile and a thank you and went on her way. What she didn't realize was how true that was, and how soon it would happen.
