A man with a powerful figure wrote diligently away at some work papers behind a great desk of walnut and ebony. The desk was meticulously organized, thus nothing was out of place. Systematized file folders of papers and ancient looking scrolls lined some of the walls, while others were bookcases overflowing with manuscripts. Aside from his collection of books, he also possessed a number of artefacts that he had acquired over the years. Some of the artefacts were merely of historic value; however, the majority of them were weapons of sorts. Despite years of “passivity,” Viktor was still a highly combat-oriented mind. The days of battle and blood may chronologically be buried centuries in his past, yet they seemed all too recent to him at times.
Viktor controlled his vast business empire from many different major cities. His work often required him to travel, so it was necessary for him to have a number of locations where he could settle down and keep everything in order. What he started as a simple industry of natural resources in the 1700’s was now a booming international corporation that provided many every day services, and much more. The power he held personally over the every day life of citizens around the globe was immense, yet he never took advantage of it. He thrived to deliver products of excellent quality, and enhance the lives of humans worldwide. He was not one that required money, so most of his own income when to charitable foundations. That being said, he did enjoy some high-priced luxuries. He was a fan of fast cars and motorcycles, among other vices.
Regardless of his enormous commercial success, it was all simply a cover for an even grander organization under his control – The Scarlet Council. He sat on the throne of Magi, and was respected universally for his accomplishments for the benefit of his kin. His founding of The Council came at a time when Magi were lost and vulnerable. Malicious Vampires preyed on the supposedly weak Supernaturals, simply for the exquisite taste of their blood. It sickened Viktor, and he made a stand to prove that Magi were not as feeble as they appeared. It has been a slow process, however: organizing the masses. He has his own agenda, nonetheless, and he has abundant amounts of patience. Coupled with his near-agelessness, he was plotting for the day of vengeance.
Today was not that day, though. He had other plans. His sources on the street informed him of an interesting individual: a man by the name of Albin Kosnik. “Hiding out” may not be the correct way to put it, but along those lines, the man resided in Harper Valley, currently. He is from a much more distinguished heritage than his appearance may lead on: a coven of great standing in Europe, the Rada Iwo. Apparently, as his sources had researched, he is the next leader of coven.
Viktor was interested in why a young man of such huge potential fled to the remote locale of Harper Valley. That, and many more questions rattled around in his ever-swirling mind; nonetheless, he was patient and all knowledge would come in time.
He continued working away at the papers as he turned on the “switch” that was his mental connection to his secretary, just outside his office: a brilliant, beautiful, young secretary, who happened to be a Shifter with some telepathic prowess. Who needs a bodyguard, or a telephone, when one has a mind scanner as a secretary?
Corinne, please inform me when my appointment arrives.
Of course, your Grace.
