it could be wrong, could be wrong, BUT IT SHOULD'VE BEEN RIGHT
The air was brisk and chilly in the February evening. Although she was in the south of the country, the desert was unforgiving in the night time. A dark hair Angellore walked down the sidewalk, weaving through the crowd. Even though is was around 3 in the morning, in sin city, there were always people around. It was one of the reason she loved the area. Easy to vanish if you needed to. And sometimes, she did. Angellore rarely went out in the nights. She knew what truly stalked these streets though hunger drove er from her tiny apartment for there was nothing to eat there. On the streets, she was fairing any better as she pulled her green, worn American Eagle sweatshirt closer around her. The zipper had long ago given out. Like most of her clothes, they were a bit threadbare. What she was sent by her mother was barely enough to cover rent, but Angellore was happy hat she had a roof over head. She had protection there. Keeping a vigilant eye, Angellore made her way around the back of a fast food restaurant. Although she didn't want to, she wasn't much above dumpster diving at this point and the food was often good and hot if you knew when to appear. Quietly, she waited in the mouth of an ally. Not quite hidden in the shadows, she could keep an eye both on the street and the ally behind her. Perfect. Resistance Muse

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellspacing,0,true][atrb=width,350,true] "I'm going out!" she called out as she rushed down the stairs as quickly as she could so she could make it out the door before Andrei had a chance to answer. Alex could have just left without saying anything but she knew that would only get her into more trouble. She was already most likely going to never hear the end of it anyway just by going out without permission. The last thing the blonde haired newborn needed was another lecture from the 1,000 year old vampire who turned her on how important it was to not get caught or killed because of her urges. It was bad enough Alex was confined to the house even during the night time for fear of killing someone, she didn't want to have to be miserable because of him either. But being locked away after tasting the sweet taste of freedom was killing her so regrettably Alex decided she needed to get out. Even if it meant a night filled with scolding and yelling afterwards.
When she stepped out a rush of warm air hit her face. Even though Alex had been living here for a few years already she still wasn't used to the warm and dry climate. As much as Alex now loved Vegas she still deeply misses her home in Russia. She missed the snow, the fresh air, and most certainly the Pirozhki's. After she finished school Alex had planned on taking a trip back there but she wasn't even past her junior year when she had to drop out and move in with Andrei because of the change. Her plans on going back one day are still present but now Alex isn't so sure her chance would come anytime soon.
As Alex had reached the Strip she started to become a little more nervous. She knew that the place was always crowded but she didn't expect this many people. Her hands started to shake and her throat started to burn. Before Alex could get any worse she grabbed her ear buds and stuck them in her ears before turning on her iPod. She hoped atleast drowning the sound out would help but half way down the Strip she realized it wasn't doing the trick. Although there was a heavy scent of smoke and fast food in the air to Alex the blood coursing through the peoples veins stuck out the most. It was becoming too overwhelming so finally Alex took a left turn into an alley and picked up her pace to get as much distance between her and the crowd as possible.
As she drew farther into the alleyway however another pungent smell hit her nostrils. This time it wasn't sweet like blood but more along the lines of wet dog. She looked around for a stray dog nearby but she saw nothing. Curious as to where the smell was coming from she slowly followed it. As she neared a intersection with another alley she peeked her head around the corner only to see a small figure standing near a dumpster a few feet away. The girl looked to be as tall as Alex, maybe even the same age but there was something odd about her and Alex just couldn't put her finger on it. She had no idea what the girl was doing, maybe she was waiting for someone or something. Whatever she was waiting for Alex tried her best to stay hidden (though Alex had never really been the stealth type).
The more she watched the girl the more she noticed the harsh scent was coming from her direction. In a place like this the smell could be coming from practically anywhere so Alex didn't think to pinpoint the smell on the stranger. Still, despite the smell almost burning her nostrils Alex remained still. She watched carefully, her curiosity getting the best of her. After a few minutes and still nothing happened Alex decided to finally leave and deal with never knowing why the girl was standing there or who/what she was waiting for. Just as Alex was about to walk away she heard footsteps. They sounded heavy and loud like boots. Whoever was nearing them definitely didn't care about being known. With one last peek around the corner Alex spotted a tall man nearing the brunette with a look of ill intentions in his eyes. He had a scar that started just above his eyebrow and ran down to his cheek. He also wore all black with matching gloves. It took her a moment to connect the dots but when she finally did she knew exactly why the man was here and now who, or better yet what, she was.
Unfortunately for the girl the vampire who was approaching her was a bounty hunter for the Markov family. A family widely known for their involvement in the supernatural black market as well as the ruthless WereArena. Any Were caught by them would rather recieve death by their own hands than by another fellow Were in the battle arena. Alex had no idea how the family ran the arena or how they even are able to seperate the Were's from humans but one thing is for sure, if they find out about you they won't stop until they have you. Because of this Alex came across a bit of a delima. She could either step in and risk being taken herself, or she could just turn around and run away. Though the latter seemed to be the safest idea Alex knew she would ultimitely regret it and the poor girls death would be on her hands. As she contemplated what to do a tight feeling in her stomach reminded her how much she was actually scared, proving in some ways she was still human. Despite her fears she knew she had to do the right thing, even if she didn't even know who this girl was or if she was worth saving. Regardless she took in a deep breath before stepping out into the open just as the man neared the young brunette. tags: Angellore words: 1,018 notes: sorry its kinda long. i didn't mean for it to be this long xD |

it could be wrong, could be wrong, BUT IT SHOULD'VE BEEN RIGHT
As her pale grey eye scanned the evening crowd, the hair on the back of Angellore's neck began to stand up...and a chill race down her spine. There was something wrong, something very out of place, but in the crowd, she couldn't find what. Her heart rate spiked a little as fear tried to wrap it's ugly hand around her. Swallowing her pulse, she forced herself to calm down. A mind of fear never helped an analytical pathway. She took a deep breath and closed her eyes for a moment, focusing. A scent slowly came to her...an acrid scent. It burned her sensitive nose and she itched it with the back of her hand and she looked up again. There, in front of her, was one of the last people she wanted to see. Cursing herself for not being more carefully, she slowly tried to slink back into the crowd, hoping to get lost from his view, the scent of the crowd masking hers. Her heart raced back up into her throat as she let her fear take over her, in the flight mode. She was small and in no way a match for this hulk of a man....but she'd be dammed if she let him catch her. Bumping back into the crowd, she looked for an escape, hoping that she had read him right. Like most, kidnapping in the middle of a crowd would be a bad thing...at least that's what she hopped. Resistance Muse

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellspacing,0,true][atrb=width,350,true] Alex could hear the brunette's heart beat quicken in her chest as the tall vampire neared. Alex was even a little scared for her and if she was alive her heart would be pounding in her chest as well. Though Alex was standing right out in the open the other vampire didn't even pay any attention to her and kept his focus on his goal, the werewolf had her back to Alex. In an attempt to help the girl Alex was just about to rush down the alley and step in but the girl retreated back into the open street and into the large crowd. She was well hidden but Alex knew better than to think she was safe now. Though the werewolf had a good chance of escaping with the help of the human crowd, to a experienced vampire her stench would stick out like a sore thumb among the sweet smell of human blood.
Alex looked around the alley quickly for a shortcut. She took a hard left and then a right. She ran down the street, pushing through the crowd. If the streets weren't filled with so many people she would have quickened her pace to vampire speed but it was impossible in this congested traffic. Again she took a hard right and in a few steps she could smell the wet dog smell again. It was hard to see the brunette in the crowd but Alex let her nose lead the way. When she finally reached her she grabbed the werewolf's wrist to get her attention. "Come with me. I know a place where you can hide." she said loudly (though her Russian accent probably made her difficult to understand against all the noise around them) before taking a step with her wrist still in her hand as if she was trying to lead her away. Alex knew the werewolf would be hesitant to follow a complete stranger right after running from a bounty hunter and might even run from her. If it were Alex she wouldn't have trusted her herself but still Alex hoped that the werewolf would see that she meant her no harm and only wanted to help, and could. tags: Angellore words: 367 notes: yay! they finally meet (: |

Going as fast as she possibly dared down the crowded street, it felt like her heart beat might gag her as it hammered away. Angellore was all too aware of what would happen if she was caught...though it would not be immediate, she would likely die. Forced into a cage and forced to fight for sport...that was what awaited her. It was a hard and cruel life and the little wolf would do anything to be rid of it. To never have the possibility of facing it. Granted, all she needed to do was move but that's harder than it seems when you're dumpster diving for your next meal. Weaving and ducking in and out of the crowd, a loud and quite audible gasp ushered from her lips when she felt the hand clamp around her wrist. Fearing the absolute worst, she spun around to meet her captor, ready to fight to the death if needed, but what she faced was not what she had expected. Though the acrid scent still hung in the air, she thought that it was the man chasing her, not this younger woman. As she spoke, Angel did her best to comprehend what had been said, though the words meaning were lost to the bustling crowd. Being yanked down the street, the she wolf had no choice but to pick up and follow her or turn around and run back towards the one chasing her. Taking her chances, she followed the blond down the street. It was a risky move, that was true, but it seemed to outweigh her alternative. Resistance Muse

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellspacing,0,true][atrb=width,350,true] With the werewolf behind her Alex pushed her way through the crowd, keeping a firm grip on the female's hand to ensure they didn't get separated. Alex cursed mentally at the fact they had to choose the busiest night to chase after the innocent wolf. Her throat started to burn slightly, even though she was far from hungry, and tried to navigate their way out of the crowd as quickly as possible. Alex took a hard right and after a few blocks another hard right until they reached the closed off landfill.
Though the landfill wasn't an important place they still had a padlock preventing the two from entering through the main gate. Luckily for Alex she had the strength to break the lock. Just as Alex grabbed the lock however she heard a noise and noticed a slight scent and she knew that the bounty hunter was close. Quickly she went back to the lock and with all her strength she broke the chain and threw it on the ground to the side. She grabbed the large gate and with a bit of effort pulled it open enough for the two to slip inside.
"In here. He won't be able to sniff you out in here." she said, hoping that the werewolf would follow. Even if she didn't want to Alex would give her no choice in the matter. Ever since Alex saw the bounty hunter she was determined to take this girl to safety and she wouldn't give up until she did. tags: Angellore words: 254 notes: none |
