Vasile is obviously the most crass and ambitious of the four original siblings. From day one he was always the golden child, but he wasn't the good child. He has always been manipulative and clever, always pushing events and ideals in his favor to get everything and anything that he wants. When he doesn't get what he wants exactly when he wants it, you best run for the hills. Speak of his temper does him no justice in any aspect. He's volatile and violent and he will get what he wants one way or the other, regardless of what it will cost the people around him, or the very world that he walks upon. However, he has very good control of his temper and doesn't outright lose his cool. He takes subtler approaches to get what he wants, whether it be by violent or civil means.
Vasile is the type of person that feels the world should bow at his feet and declare themselves loyal to him. This is especially true about fellow vampires. He feels that each and every vampire owes him the eternal life that they have obtained. They would not have become vampires without him having made the deal with the Gypsy witch.
He can be a cruel man, without a care of how people feel. He will do anything and everything to get ahead, even if it means slaughtering a few hundred to thousand people. He isn't merciful in the least and would sooner kill a begging human than let them live to tell about his secret. There aren't very many people that he actually cares about, except for his wife and his siblings, all three of them. As much as Savitar and Mihail hate him, he still loves them and cares for them from the bottom of his cold, dead, heart. Other lives are simply dispensable and can be replaced easily as the human population grows so quickly.
As cruel, malicious, and manipulative as he is, he does have a very select soft side. A soft side that the only three women in his life ever see. His sister, his adopted daughter, Lorna, and his wife are the lights in his life and he cares very much for their safety and well being. They are the only two people who actually keep him on his toes. He's protective and very possessive of the three of them, and has been known to kill any person who wrongs either of them, without remorse.
As much as he enjoys his life, one of his deepest secrets is that he silently regrets making the deal with the witch. He cares much for his siblings and regrets everything that he put them through. He feels worst about Mihail and Savitar losing their families and often prays for their eventual forgiveness. He will probably never admit it, but most of the time that is how he feels. He sees this fact as being one of his only weaknesses in his life (next to his love of his sister and his wife).

Vasile was born in Romania in 498 AD. He was the first of four children to be born to the pair of parents. The first two years of his life were great. He was the light in his parents life. Every moment of every day was given to him for attention. When his brother was born, something changed in him. He distanced himself from his parents slightly, starting to manipulate things in his favor. When he wanted something, he got it. After his other two siblings were born, it was found that he got along best with his little sister. He understood her, unlike their brothers, and made an easy friend of her.
It stayed that way through childhood, adolescence, and his human adulthood. He didn't ever get along with his brothers, though he secretly cared about them. He was never one to show anyone his emotions and was rather cruel to his siblings, always pulling tricks or manipulating them to his advantage. The only one that never really took his crap was Savitar. Thus, Vasile never really gave him any mind, only causing trouble with his brother when it benefited him or when he was bored.
By the time he was 20, he got it into his head that he wanted to have power. A lot of power. He wanted control, no matter what it cost him or the people around him. He wanted his father dead and he wanted to take control of the town and eventually all of the surrounding areas. Knowing that after he became the "King" of his taken lands, he would die and lose everything that he had worked for. Thus, he sought out a Gypsy witch by the name of Ankara. He made a deal with her in exchange for immortality and immense power. He took over as he had planned, but not before his sister joined him and he tricked Mihail into becoming a vampire as well. He felt that it might bring the two closer together after Mihail found out his secret. He hadn't wanted Mihail to tell their father about his secret or the planned attack to take over the town.
Mihail ended up leaving his brother soon after the battle against their father and the townspeople. He felt no remorse for what he had done at the time, knowing that this is what he had wanted all along. He never found out what happened to his brother Savitar, and to this day he just assumes him dead along with his mother and father.
He and his sister stuck together all through their time in Europe. While she spent time leaving seas of bodies in her wake, Vasile took a more subtle approach to life. He drank. He had sex. He partied. That was until he met Sorina. A gorgeous Russian woman who had traveled to France. He had already turned, no doubt from one of the countless vampires that had been created since the Gypsy's spell. She was similar to Vasile yet so different. Like his own sister, she kept him on his toes. She was always surprising him in one way or another. Ever entranced by her beauty and her temper, he soon found himself fallen. While he was in love with the woman, they simply kept the relationship to a series of passionate trysts until the European supernatural war occurred. He had to leave his love behind and follow his sister on a boat to the new world.
They landed in Harper Valley, amongst the tribe of the Tonkawa tribe. They spent many years there feeding and just living their lives before the tribe and the people of the new town decided to fight back against the vampires. This caused Vasile, only thinking of himself, to escape alone into the night and move on through the new world.
In the early 1800's he ran into Sorina again. He had taken a new name, Rhafiel, and she had taken the name of Kaia.
