Much of Gawain's history is a mystery to him. The first thing that he's ever remembered is waking up in the Sentella base, in July of 2007, and being checked over by a doctor. The only belonging's that he had were a picture, a pocket watch, and a cross necklace. The picture was of the family that he did not remember, all of their names written on the back with the sentence "Never forget Dec 25, 2005." While he didn't remember the date or what had happened on that Christmas day, he had a feeling that whatever happened to them was horrible and destructive. The pocket watch was old, but very well kept and he assumed it was special if he still had it. The cross necklace was made of a black petrified wood and came to a sharp point at the end.
Further investigation of the names on the back of the photograph, Gawain found that they had been his family. His parents and two siblings. They had died on December 25th, 2005. Putting two and two together, Gawain was able to figure that they had died at the hands of something supernatural. A search through what happened to be left of his old flat in England revealed the murderers' to be a coven of vampires. He cleaned out his flat and returned back to New York City, petitioning the Sentella leader, Savitar, to undergo training as a hunter.
His wishes were granted and he began the extensive training, working hard to become fast and become strong. While he learned how to take down all types of supernatural creatures, he focused mainly on vampires, a vendetta on his mind and revenge gripping his heart. When given the chance to take up missions, Gawain jumped right in, hoping that the vampires he was hunting would know something about the coven he wanted to destroy. Many of his leads were duds, but upon meeting a young vampire woman, he grasped onto a lead that actually gave results. It seemed as if this coven of vampires always looked for families of five and killed four of the humans. They either left the fifth human alone or they turned them. Using this information, Gawain tracked the trail of bodies to Northern Alaska. Over the course of two weeks he picked off every single member of the coven, gaining his vengeance for the family that he still couldn't remember.
His revenge taken, Gawain focused on his jobs and missions within the Sentella, traveling here and there to take care of various supernatural creatures. By 2010 Gawain was one of the mot valuable Sentella members. Many members of the group couldn't keep up with the man and they showed much less ambition and initiative than Gawain himself. Thus, it was easy for Gawain to work his way up through the ranks, eventually taking on the title of Nocturn Sergeant. He was put in charge of a company of men that focused mostly on taking down problem vampires around the world.
Since Gawain's awakening, he's made his home in Harper Valley, New York. He loves his new home and would do anything to protect it, regardless of what it might cost him in the end.
