OVERALL PERSONALITY: From day one Chase had always been the shy and quiet type, his obsession to please everyone coming later in his life. Ever since he could speak Chase has always had a studder problem which at first caused a lot of communication issues but as he grew older he was able to manage it more though his fear of talking only to be made fun of remained long after his studdering calmed down. When he does have to interact he is usually pretty calm and can deal with almost anything, just as long as you're not screaming in his face or making fun of his studdering. To those that are close with him they would describe Chase as sweet, protective, generous, and had the potential to charm the ladies with his looks and gentleman ways, if he could only gather the strength to actually ask a girl out. Not only does his shyness get in the way but his reputation of being the Harper in the 'slow classes' does as well, diminishing any confidence the boy had. Slowly he's been trying to regain it by taking a few lessons from his brother in his martial arts studio but sadly for the boy his balance and reflexes just aren't there yet.
Chase rarely ever gets angry, instead he will just go silent and most likely walk away if it becomes too much, preferring to pretend to be alright rather than let anyone know he was upset. Instead of getting angry he get's depressed which causes his fits of silence. Because of his naturally quiet nature it's hard to tell when he's being quiet from aggravation or from the fact he just doesn't have anything to say but it is known that during times of stress Chase will remain silent for weeks or months at a time but always eventually comes around. It feels natural to Chase to bottle everything up in order to just forget about it and that often prevents any real outbursts. When he does let go it is very hard to get him to calm down as he hasn't quite learned how to due to the fact he barely gets angry in the first place. The only times Chase will ever really get angry is when he's protecting someone he loves or something he truly believes in, of which he would fight rigorously (though his chances of winning would most likely be slim) in order to defend the person or belief, even if he ended up in worse shape than the opposer. Some would call this loyalty while others would call it stupidity.
Though a loner and much more docile than his two siblings Chase does have a passionate and creative side. He has trouble expressing it to others directly due to his shy nature but he often uses his music as an outlet and way to communicate to others in a way that makes him feel more comfortable than speaking normally, without the studdering. Otherwise he uses movies and video games as a way to escape into his own reality and can often be found at the movie theater on his days off. When Chase does find someone he's comfortable with and can open up he is a pretty laid back guy who would rather sit and enjoy ones company then go out and get into trouble like most his age.

HISTORY: Chase Lee Harper was born into a seemingly normal household. Chase was a healthy baby boy, maybe a bit smaller than usual but healthy regardless, and even had an older brother to look up to from day one. Two years later his younger sister was born and completed the Harper family. Chase grew up in a healthy household, for the most part. Due to the family being one of the Founding Families they had their fair share of situations but nothing they couldn't handle. Because of his family however the weird and unnatural was introduced to him at an early age and even to this day the most 'supernatural' of stories and legends don't really phase him.
Death and abandonment however was a different story. When Chase was five the family adopted a dog and Chase instantly became infatuated with the furry canine. The two were inseparable, together at each other's sides every minute of the day except when Chase was at daycare. The dog remained loyal to Chase for two years before the dog died from a tumor. At the time Chase was only seven and didn't fully understand what that meant. It took the boy three months to realize that the dog was never coming back and when he did he broke down.
A year later more tragedy would strike the boy as custody over his older half brother was being delegated between their mother and his brother's real father. Still too young to fully understand what was going on all the boy knew was that his idol was being taken from him and he didn't know why. Chase quickly became even more secluded than before. The one person he trusted the most was gone and now he felt alone. As time went on Chase slowly became better but still missed his brother dearly. When his brother finally returned Chase was overjoyed but that feeling would not last long.
Years later when Chase turned thirteen his father passed and left the sensitive boy broken once again. After that Chase took a vow of silence that lasted until his Freshman year in high school and was broken only by his sister pestering him so much it forced a shout out of him. Once he spoke he regretted the decision and almost went back to his vow of silence but in the end decided not to in order to please his distraught and depressed mother. Since then a small obsession grew in Chase to make those around him happy and even to this day he will do almost anything to ensure that other's around him are happy so hopefully he could avoid as much stress as possible. Still, his discomfort with death made him a stranger to socialization and the boy intentionally refrains from making any connections outside of his family for fear of being 'left' and hurt once again.
This feeling would travel through time with him all the way up to high school. Though by then his older brother had returned Chase was a changed boy. He was more reserved than before, quiet, and preferred the company of his guitar more than any human - or animal. His high school years were tough. Because of his learning disability he was picked on constantly, despite being a Harper who are practically famous in the town. This only made his situation worse as the whole school believed him to be a spoiled brat, only that was far from the case. Chase spent most of his school years alone, making only one to two friends but those ended when they went off to college while he remained in Harper Valley. Due to his disability his grades weren't the best so being accepted to a well off college was only a dream to him. Now he works at the Silver Bird as a bus boy while attending a community college in New York City.
