A little something about me: I LOVE quotes. I have six freaking lists of them (I have a thing for lists too) and I always pop them up to read if I even want to be inspired, think deeply about something in life or laugh at a stupid inside joke. So I figured, why not share a couple that I love?
A lot of these quotes can get serious and I feel that a couple have even helped me to write, but trust me: there's going to be a LOAD of random silly quotes that'll hopefully make you roll on the ground and cry with laughter c':
Now, let's begin!

"I will tell you now: No amount of tragic backstory has ever made anyone like anyone else, ever. You can make it sympathetic, but that's not the same as liking someone. This is recognizing that they've gone through some rough shit. It doesn't matter how many times you have your character raped. It doesn't matter how many of their parents you have murdered. It doesn't matter if you have every plane that they've ever traveled on crash into the mountains and they have to eat their whole family to survive, which renders this character unable to birth children for the rest of her life. Also she was born without any limbs, hair, eyes, ears of mouth. In fact she's just a torso with a brainstem. Oh, that's so tragic, but put that character next to Clementine From The Walking Dead game, and people will pick the adorable little girl over the ultra-victim every time. She used a salt lick and then denied it. That's ADORABLE. Fuck your tragic ball of meat, you get no sympathy from me. See, you can't just treat your characters like crap throughout the horrible story that you made up and expect people to care. They won't! You have to find the time to give your characters some personality before you start ruining their lives." - from an awesome, awesome video by Plague of Gripes talking about the horror genre and writing a good story/character in general that Faye recommends people watch uwu
