Isolde sighed, pressing her hair back away from her face, glancing slightly over her shoulder back drown the road. She was standing outside of a club, one that she'd been to a few times before. She was having a hard time coming to terms with the fact that she was actually here and she was actually waiting for him. It wasn't like he'd actually asked her out. He'd told her to be here. Though, she never had been one to refuse the chance to go out. She didn't get to go out like this that often. Her days were spent working at the library and then working more at the Stratosphere. She didn't get a break that often and had found recently that even her violin wasn't getting as much attention as it used to. So here she was, waiting on him. He'd told her to meet him out front at nine o'clock. Was it really that hard for him to be punctual as well? Well, he did have a few minutes, but Isolde was growing wary. She didn't want to be stood up, especially when he had so bluntly demanded her to meet him. The little shifter bit her lip lightly, smoothing her dress against her hips as she took another glance around, wondering if she would spot him. She didn't know how this night would go, or if it would even go anywhere at all. She was kind of scared, in all honesty. One thing she didn't want to deal with was if she set him off in some way. He must have known by now that she was terribly stubborn. She wasn't one to back down from a fight and she was the one who was likely to end up hurt if it came to blows between them. Isolde leaned back against the wall of the building, crossing her arms over her chest slowly. Great. Just great. The time was ticking away. She knew she'd be left here. She just knew it. Something probably came up and she was just going to be a thought that hardly remained in the back of his mind. 'Oh god,' she thought, 'when will this night end?' She needed a drink and she needed one fast.

From the ashes of hate, it's a cruel demon's fate. Sometimes you have to put your foot down. Sometimes you have to put it up their asses.
Demon rolled his eyes as he played with the thought for the umpteeth time. Instead of heeding to it, the old vampire pinched the bridge of his nose and reminded himself that the vampires working for him were mostly Vinci members. The ones that weren't were trusted associated of the coven. The rest were humans that would most likely be missed if he gave into the urge to lose his temper. Plus, he really didn't feel like hiring and training new ones. That pissed him off more than he was now.
He glanced at the clock on his wall and sighed of frustration. He was late. He hated being late. The worst part was that this wasn't even his fault. No, he was late because the package he had to wait on was supposed to be there hours ago. It wasn't, and he couldn't leave until it arrived. That was the strict orders of Nicolai Vinci himself. No one else was to pick up the package but Demon himself. Fifteen more minutes passed before a knock came to his office door.
"Enter," he said brusquely and watched as the man came in holding a small, neatly wrapped box. "About time."
The man flinched at Demon's angry tone and rushed out soon as the package was in his hands. Demon let him go only because he was late enough and still had to make sure the contents in the package were all accounted for and intact. The box contained several small bottles of assorted liquers with a few drops of magi blood. It was just a little something for him to test drive for the Vinci Market. He put them in his hidden safe and then headed out the door. He had a temperamental shapeshifter to meet up with.
On his way there, he stopped by a flourist stand and bought a single red hibiscus at the insistance of the ginger saleswoman, who gushed over the meaning of the flower. He didn't listen, though he probably should have. As it was, he really didn't care. He just hoped the flower prevent Isolde from raving about making her sit there for a half hour longer than she should have. Plus, he hoped the flower would be enough to get her to forget that he was late and therefore he would be free from explaining. Hopefully, he could finally calm down and relax. He walked into the club and straight over to the girl, presenting the flower to her.
"Sorry, I'm late," he said.

Now I’m Here to Give You All My Love So I can watch your face as I take it all away Isolde had found herself inside of the club before long, settling alone at one of the many tables. This was the club of a friend of hers, but she knew the beautiful hybrid was probably busy working and wouldn't be free to drink with her if Damianos didn't show up. She glanced at one of the clocks on the wall, tapping her fingers against the table, a heavy sigh escaping her. She was starting to feel like she was being stood up. The fact that he'd been the one to ask her to be here, or rather tell her, made her feel as if it was his intention to humiliate her. She wouldn't put it past the vampire at this point, as she was sure she did deserve her share of shame, but on a night like this that was the last thing she needed. Her eyes trailed toward the door right as Damianos walked in and Isolde was instantly on her feet, unable to help the smile that spread across her features. All wasn't lost tonight, it seemed. She was rather relieved. Though, she didn't expect the flower or anything like that from him. She didn't reject it, however, reaching out slowly, biting her lip lightly and taking the flower from him before she brought her gaze back up to his face. She set the flower down on the table, motioning her words slowly. "Thank you. However, I was starting to think you weren't going to show up," she finished, a small smile on her features. She wasn't going to hold it against him, at least not this time. She had bigger things for her mind to dwell on. For example, the fact that though he was late, he had shown up. Isolde motioned to their table, encouraging him to sit down with her. After she settled back into her seat she lifted her hands and started to motion again, the pleased smile never leaving her lips. "I'm glad that you picked a place that I know very well and am even more pleased that it was somewhere out of the Vinci and Markov vicinities," she started, then added, "No offense, but that area's a little stressful for someone like me. All the...blood and prying eyes. Though I am quite curious as to why you were late."She knew better to press for too much information. He likely wouldn't give her a straight answer or would avoid the entire question all together. It didn't bother her too much. In fact, she was quite used to it with him. Sometimes she felt the same way and didn't want to tell too much. However, he always seemed to get the information out of her regardless of if she wanted to talk about it or not. Call it a weakness, but when he actually took the chance to be supportive or protective, she couldn't hide from him. From their few encounters, that's what seemed to have happened. After all, they wouldn't have made the deal about finding the vampire who killed her parents if she hadn't divulged at least a little personal information. @demon | 522 | OUTFIT | Sorry for the wait.

From the ashes of hate, it's a cruel demon's fate. "Thank you. However, I was starting to think you weren't going to show up,"
Demon gave her a charming smile at her words. In reality, he was still fuming about the fact he was late. He was the sort that liked order and was usually very punctual and reliable. He didn't like when he was delayed in any way, especially when he was the one who placed the time.
"I would have called if I was unable to make it," he said. "I'm not that big of an asshole. I keep my promises. I wouldn't have asked you to come if I didn't plan on showing up."
"I'm glad that you picked a place that I know very well and am even more pleased that it was somewhere out of the Vinci and Markov vicinities. No offense, but that area's a little stressful for someone like me. All the...blood and prying eyes. Though I am quite curious as to why you were late."
He sighed, somewhat annoyed that she brought up his tardiness. It wasn't her fault. He knew that. She was simply curious about what kept him. He couldn't blame her for that, but he couldn't very well tell her the truth. He couldn't tell her the whole truth anyway. The Vincis were very tight-lipped about their main business. It was one of the many differences that caused the rivalry with the Markovs. Discretion was a little more important to Vinci than it was to Markov. That was the main reason Demon joined Vinci's coven. He was old school and a lot of his beliefs matched Vinci's.
"I had to wait on a package for the coven," he said. "I was the only one able to sign for it."

The charming smile that Demon gave her threw her off at first. She tried not to act too star-struck and simply shook her head slightly, turning her head and lifting her hand as if there was something in her eye and she needed to get it out. After a few moments of this, she looked back up at him, a smile on her face as she took her turn to listen. He wasn't really an asshole at all, at least she didn't see him as one. She understood that she could push people buttons in ways that frustrated them. His more so than anyone that she'd ever met. But she was still alive and well. His temper hadn't gotten the best of him quite yet, or else she'd likely be dead already.
"I don't think you're an asshole, Demon," she motioned at first, pausing to look up at the waiter who came to ask for their drink orders. Thankfully she knew this waiter and he really didn't even have to ask what she wanted. He looked more to Demon, giving Izzy a sideways smile and a motion of 'I already know what you'd like'. Isolde grinned to herself and looked down toward the table for a few moments. She spent far too much time in this place lately. What better way to sate boredom or get rid of stress that built up from work than to have a drink at her favorite bar?
When the waiter left with Demon's drink order, Isolde continued, "Why did you ask me, exactly? I mean, I do rather enjoy the idea, but I am very curious as to what..." she paused for a moment, chewing on her bottom lip to show the mild anxiety that she was feeling, "this is." It was a question that had been nagging at her since he'd first asked her, and it was one that she hadn't been able to avoid asking about now. Taking in a slow breath she put her hands down, not sure if she really had anything else to say.
Her eyes remained locked to him, however, ever curious of him and his motives. He didn't exactly broadcast them. No. She was the loose canon of the two. She was still unpredictable, however. As impulsive as she was, she always could throw someone for a loop, do something they'd never really expect of her. But this seemed a little out of character for him and she didn't understand what he was playing at, if anything. Isolde settled her hands into her lap, not sure where to put them and unable to hide the sudden nervousness that showed on her features.

"I don't think you're an asshole, Demon,"
Demon raised an eyebrow at the comment. How very odd of thing for her to say, but it was also a great source of amusement for him. He knew the truth. He was an asshole every which angle one viewed him. He had no qualms and freely admitted to it if asked.
"That's the thing, though, Ms. Gale," he said. "I am every bit of the asshole everyone knows me as. So why is it you don't see the truth?"
He took his seat and just watched her with curious amusement. After all, he really wasn't a nice man. He knew it. His colleagues knew it. His coven knew it. Why was it that this little shifter knew one of his darkest periods and yet didn't seem to care? It confused him quite a bit.
"Why did you ask me, exactly? I mean, I do rather enjoy the idea, but I am very curious as to what... this is."
Demon took a sip of his drink and considered how to answer her. He really hadn't thought about it. It was more like a whim. He did it without much thought or consideration behind it. He set his glass down and looked at her.
I wanted to thank you properly for reuniting me with my daughter," he said.
It was an adequate explanation that also had the benefit of being true.

[nospaces] [attr="class","circle"] 591[break] @demon[break] OUTFIT[break] Sorry this took so long! ARE YOU GOING TO STAY THE NIGHT? I solde chewed very lightly on her bottom lip, a tiny little quirk of hers that always seemed to come out of nowhere. It didn't really give anything away about her feelings or her thoughts, it was more of an absent habit. The tiny shapeshifter watched him intensely, her eyes never leaving his. She didn't even look up as the waiter came back with their drinks, putting them down on the table. Isolde took her glass of mint julep and sipped it lightly before settling the glass back on the table, her finger running very slowly along the rim of the glass.[break][break] She lifted her hands slowly, her expression rather thoughtful at his comment. She gave a bright and bashful smile and looked down at her glass as she thought of the proper answer for him. "I suppose the question that you should be asking is: Why dont you see the truth?" she started to sign, a perfect eyebrow lifting and the smile growing a little wider, "You forget that I've gotten to know you. I don't see the asshole. I see the man who cared enough to want to reach out to his daughter. I see the man who wanted to thank a woman, who would be better off as a meal, just for helping him. You're blunt, tactless, a little cruel, but you're not an asshole. It's called honesty, and you happen to be doing a damn good job at keeping people on their toes," she finished signing, giving a shallow shrug and putting her hands back on the table.[break][break] Isolde let her eyes remain on his face, waiting patiently for his reaction. She didn't expect much of a response from him. She never did. He either deflected or gave a simple answer to all of her questions. She knew he was a private man, and she didn't blame him. He was a vampire living in Las Vegas. Sometimes it was hard to remain in the shadows in a big city like this. There were more people to see you if you screwed up. More eyes on you if you were caught doing anything even remotely supernatural. How they got away with as much as they did in this town was beyond her. She couldn't even fathom the thought of it. How hard did people really work to stay under the radar? Isolde was careful about who she revealed herself to. She'd even been wary of telling Demon what she was, but so far it hadn't gotten her into too much trouble. She hoped that it would remain like that.[break][break] Thinking on his next comment, she swallowed slightly. Her heart sunk slightly in her chest. Just a way to say thank you, huh? As much as she appreciated the sentiment, part of her had been hoping that it was something else that had spurred him on to ask to meet her. Especially in a place that his coven wasn't associated with in the slightest, and where his work would have to be left behind. She hid the crestfallen feeling, refusing to let it show on her features as she gave a bright nod, showing that she had been all too happy to help him. Lifting her hands once more, "You really didn't have to, you know. Just being able to be the one to help you, Demon, that was enough for me. I mean, I don't mind being out here with you..." she shut herself up, dropping her hands before she said something that she might regret, smiling sheepishly now.
